Indulgence Friday ..
It's the start of my compliance leave (yesh..2 weeks of nauhing) & i've the honor to spend it with 6 other pretties..(yesh.they are all on leave!!)..for a wonderful lunch @

Here's the 7 of us...enjoying our "tai-tai" lifestyle..indulging in a nice & long lunch..sipping wine...chatting..laughing (having to remember to giggle instead of LAUGH cos we are supposed to be fine-dining..oppsss)

Next stop..shopping @ Haji lane..BUT first we need to park the car..OMG..its soo crowded..there's cars everywhere..with 5 pairs of eyes..we squint and try to find a slot..suddenly.."Quick..there's slot there!!" "but i can't do parallel parking" "it's 1-way, no entry" "never mind, jus go..quick reverse in" "but i cannot park...i scare" "just go...reverse..quick quick!!"

you can soo imagine..all gals trying their best to get the slot..poor lilian..almost broke down.hee..

good attempt to get the butt of the car into the slot...and grace c. graciously volunteered to help park the car..the gals decided to alight and give directions.. "reverse reverse..oh nooo...." *hitting the boot...stop stop* lotsa of commotion..i could do nothing..so i just sat in the car and snap pics..hee...and finally..all the gals starting clappin..yesh we have parked the car !! heee (luckily there is no other bystanders..else...heee.then again.. we wouldn't care cos its' our crazy mood day)

Its fun shopping with the gals..i guess we spent like 30-45mins @ each shop..gleeing in delight as we find something quirky...and goes "check this out..its sooo you !!!" "nice !!!! buy it!" "whoa..very unique...suits you! heee..and off to the counter to pay for our purchases.....

its the 1st time we are doing this together..and one of us suggested that this should be a quarterly affair..sounds fun! really look forward to the next one!!

Damn Good Food @ a Damn Good Price

I am not joking!! this is the tagline for the popular authentic American style, restaurant quality food (@ very reasonable price) that has been "sprouting" up @ various kopitiams..from woodlands, clementi, AMK..etc..and the latest NEWS..they are opening a new outlet @ BEDOK (opp the library)..that is a Damn Good news for the easterners!! Welcome Botak Jones !!!!
boy, am I lucky or what..in the quest to find better food for the weekend, dar & I decided to head down to AMK to try the yummy burgers..(that i've heard so much but have not tried)... and yesh..simply so happy when we finally locate them..and then..surprise..!! they told me that today is their last day there..and they will be moving to AMK Ave 10 & a new branch in Bedok.. (gosh..luckily i made it in time...)
Here's what we ordered:
Fish & Chips ($6.50) ~ really fresh..and it's premium pacific dory seasoned with jap bread crumbs..mmm..delicious, delectable, delightful..yesh..i feel happy eating this..hee =)

Chicken Gumbo ($5) ~ a hearty soup from Louisiana, made with cajun veggies, chk, turkey sausage & their magic mix of herbs & spices, it did warm our stomach on that rainy afternoon..mmmm....

The Botak Burger ($7.50 set meal)~ 150g of hand formed beef. Medium well, yummy!! together with their spicy fries (dusted with their own spice mix)..the whole combination is ..mmm.. perfect..sedap..we like..!!

Our Verdict :
only regret is that...we were too full and there's no more space in our stomach to accomodate the cheese cakes/ apple pie....mmm..we will be back soon..!!!!

hmph..jus back from the bank..and gosh..all i wanted to do was to replace my ATM card(cos the plastic is peeling off) and wat did i get..allow me to recount the "sequel"

(Lookin @ my watch, gosh its 11.10am, have to rush..i'm on lunch duty today and have to be back by 12pm..rushed to a bank branch & took a queue # )

Me : (thinking to myself..) mm..that will be fast, jus 2 more & its my turn..

5 Mins later...
Mr A (abit plump) came over and asked : "Miss, do you have a savings plan?"
Me : "Yes"
Mr A : "tat's gd..do u know that the interest is only 0.2% and now we have a savings plan + protection BUT the savings is not the premium"
Me : "huh, how can it not be the premium.. it's an endownment, right ?
Mr A : " no, Miss.. it's a savings plan + protection. not PREMIUM"

Me : (getting frustrated) so since you say its savings, i can withdraw the $ anytime, rite ?
Mr A : " No, Miss.. you can only withdraw the $ after 2 years..and if you save for 10 years. the amount you get will be more than wat you save"
Me : (looking pissed) of cos, it should be more!! anyways, do you then have a write-up on this, since i still do not understand how can it be savings & not premium ??
Mr A : We do not have any writeup, only this brochure which states that you can have a IPOD if you save $XXX and a phone if you save $XX......
Me : "its ok..i am not here to buy a IPOD/Phone"
20 mins later.... finally my Q no.

Another 5 mins for Officer X to key in my data....

Another 5 mins to get the new card & PIN approved....(thats 30 mins and no card yet)

Finally.. another Officer Y(came over and returned me my NRIC and new ATM Card..

Me : (Standing up) thanks alot

Officer Y : No..! Sit Down !
(I was stunned and fell back to my seat..too shocked to say anything)

Officer Y : "Sit down & wait for Officer X to come back" ( then she walked away)

~Officer X came back shortly, cut my old ATM into half and look @ me...

Officer X : "errr.. yah... its done"
Me : "erm...its done..so can i go now? cos that lady asked me to sit and wait for you"

Officer X : "yar... ok, you can go now"

~ Gosh..OMG..all i wanted was to change a new ATM card..wat a horrible experience..with ppl not knowing their stuffs..trying to pull a fast one..playing around with the terminology..i hate it when ppl treat me like a fool..as if i cannot differentiate a savings account / endownment place..commanding me to sit and wait..while they take their own sweet time..gosh..and i am only left with a short time to grab a sandwich and rushed back in my heels..only able to catch my breath as i land my butt on my seat...~sigh...wat a lunchtime~

To the tune of the "ah-go-go music", she boogie, she sway, she twist..oh my , i blicked again, yesh yesh (turning to my dad), that's mum in front, the one in yellow...
OMG, i didn't know she can dance so well! she was smiling all the way, remembering her moves and havin the time of her life!.. check out the lace, the make-up & the sequins..sooo hot....

yup, mum will be performing @ the main hall at the Soka HQ on Dec 1st, and she truly inspires me.. that one is never too old to learn..she has no dance background, but here you are, someone who isn't afraid to dance in front of >1000 audiences..making no mistakes..and making the whole hall turn into lecherous wolves..whistling away...heeeee....

You have to place more fillings and seal the "skin" with eggwhite.....

Dar having a go @ it..not bad for a 1st-timer...=)

Finally, with some veg & noodles..mmmm..wow..can you taste the fillings..its heavenly! the succulent prawns, flavorsome minced meat combined with the really "crunchy"waterchestnut,makes every mouthful divine....totally blown me away....

Nacho couldn't resist us enjoying our tasty meal..& starting barking..."woof, i wanna eat"
prepared his meal for him.. and see how much he enjoyed it!!!

yES, tATS ME.. the Geeky Environmentalist wanna-be..going
that's the theme for this year D&D!!..though all of us frowned @ the tot of dressing up in school uniforms...but gosh..@ the ballroom of Ritz..it seemed to have transformed into a posh school hall..almost 85% are in uniforms..some even came e cuppa-cuppa lollipop..strawberry shortcake mini haversack...waterbottle sling on their shoulder & w a "click" the straw "pops" up..and one can enjoy their Ribena; of cos not forgetting the "ah-bengs" & the jap school gals....mmmmmm......

School days are fun...w 2 ponytails..i skip/hop around the school...queuing up for a donut/fishball...when it rains, i go to school in slippers (jumping into puddles of water..that makes my mum goes "aiyo..girl ah..."), changing back to crisp white socks and clean shoes, ready to go for class...."kaypoing" to help the "cher" bring the books to the staff room... and rushing back to watch my fav show..singing to the tune of..."du du du du du 青春123, lalalalala青春123"

those were the days..and somehow they seem quite a loonnggg time ago...

then again...standing in the ballroom.."singing the "school song" ; saying the "pledge"; & witnessing the flag-raising ceremony..and the "morning assembly speech " by the CEO..does bring back lovely memories of the innocent me..hee...now i understand why my mum always say that "the best time in your life is when you are in school.. no worries...just enjoy & have fun!!"
& here's us reviving those GOOD times once more.....
