~Special "25"~
The silver 25th anniversary is a milestone wedding anniversary. And rightly so!
Spending a quarter of a century in love with one person is to be celebrated.
For the very 1st time (30th Dec 07), Soka is celebrating the bliss of those who have been thru thick & thin for the past 25 years to come together, to share the joy & renew their vows..and yesh..daddy & mummy is gonna be part of this once-in-a-lifetime celebration..having been married for 28 years...i guess this will be another milestone for them...a special day for them....
Celebrity for the day...they get chauffered around, have their hair done, media coverage on CNA & "News on 8"..no wonder they were smiling non-stop and having the time of their life!

Mummy... getting a touch-up for her make up and of cos her hair..

All ready for the ceremony...and yesh, i'm the driver for the day =)
Special door gift for us... green tea for the "YUM SENG" + mochi (a must-have jap dessert for all special occasion.. and indeed, yesh..this is a special occasion!!)
All 88 couples for a group pic...really hearwarming..the oldest participants have been married for 53 years and they were still holding each other's hands (yesh, i admit, i'm a sucker for such things.. i just *melt*) all were dressed in lovely gowns / cheongsum..guys in suits...i would say the best dressed goes to those in the 50s..they really go all way out for this occasion..then again, it shows how important this is to them..very touching...

Lotsa late nights and manpower went to recreate the main hall into a romantic venue!!

a gift for the couple, a pair of swans with their names!

hand-made flowers lined the stairways & can you see the number "25" in the midst of the many cut-out hears..forming the backdrop of this significant event.

Bubbles!! creating a romantic & 'bubbly" entrance for the 88 couples to march in...right after the splendid performance by Soka's very own Lion Dance Troupe!

Simply them.....

Of cos..not forgetting the traditional "YUM SENGGGG" to share in the joy and cheer on for the 88 couples who have taken the time off to come together to renew their vows!! No beer / wine, a simple packet of green tea will do just fine c",)

Then(28 years ago...) and now.....together with 8 of us to celebrate the renewed vows of this lovely couple - who has taught has that its not an easy route but with true belief, we can make the impossible possible..."Neither orders, authority not threats can unite a family. It is love, harmony and consideration that bind its members to one another. In a family, there is no particular need for a hero. What is needed is a strong father who can protect everyone and a mother who is impartial, fair and kind"
